James J. Renwick is a senior Associate with Renwick and Associates, incorporated in 1973. Mr. Renwick represents the fourth generation of the Renwick family engaged in the real estate industry. As part of his duties, Mr. Renwick is heavily involved in the firm’s Mass Real Estate Appraisal Department, having been personally involved in numerous re-valuations, re-assessments, and special assessment programs throughout his career. In addition, he is one of the firm’s leading real estate appraisers, specializing in litigation support, testimony, and the valuation of various types of property development rights, such as Pinelands Development Credits (PDC’s), Transferable Development Rights (TDR’s), Green Acres Program acquisitions, and farmland development easements. Mr. Renwick has qualified as an expert witness in numerous proceedings before various courts, commissions, and quasi-judiciary bodies in the State of New Jersey. Mr. Renwick has lectured at the professional and collegiate level on the Principles of Real Estate Appraisal and related subjects. He also serves as Tax Assessor or Deputy Tax Assessor in numerous municipalities throughout Southern New Jersey.

Apart from his career as a civilian, Mr. Renwick serves as a Master Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps Reserves.

EDUCATION:

Mr. Renwick graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) in Economics from Rutgers University. He has received extensive professional education from the Appraisal Institute, the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers, and the Renwick and Associates School of Real Estate Appraisal in the direct application and teaching of real estate appraisal theory.

PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS:

Mr. Renwick is a State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser (SCGREA), the highest designation issued to Real Estate Appraisers in the State of New Jersey. He is a State of New Jersey Certified Tax Assessor (CTA) and a member of the New Jersey Association of Municipal Assessors. Mr. Renwick is on the approved appraiser list for a number of government agencies, including the New Jersey Green Acres Program and the State Agricultural Development Committee (SADC).

CIVIC ACTIVITIES:

Mr. Renwick is an Officer (Secretary) and Committee Member of the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation.  He is the former Washington Township Designee to the Pinelands Municipal Council and a former Member of the Burlington Township Zoning Board.
